Presented by Marsha Lustigman & Karen Ulric

for the Avi Chai Bookshelf Librarians

June 19, 2006

AJL Convention, Boston MA.

Are librarians going to be gatekeepers or 'enablers' when it comes to using Web 2.0? This presentation was created to provide an overview of Web 2.0 to librarians/media specialists working in Jewish high school libraries.  It introduces such innovations as blogs, wikis, rss and the social or collaborative web (My Space, Facebook).  In addition, it provides information on using Wikipedia to teach research skills to students.   In addition, it highlights the wiki page created for Avi Chai Bookshelf Librarians and asks for participation to make this site a useful source for collaboration for our members.
